Actress Shannen Doherty has revealed that her breast cancer has spread to her brain. The 50-year-old star, who is best known for her roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed,” shared the news on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

“I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer a year ago,” Doherty wrote. “It’s important to me to share my journey. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Because I know so many of you are fighting this fight with me or have fought this fight before. Sharing my journey is one way I can help.”
Doherty first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. She underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free in 2017. However, in 2020, she announced that her cancer had returned.
In her Instagram post, Doherty said that she is currently undergoing radiation treatment and immunotherapy. She said that she is “feeling good” and is “fighting hard.”
“I’m not going to let this define me,” she wrote. “I’m going to keep fighting and I’m going to keep living my life.”
Doherty’s announcement has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and friends. Many celebrities, including Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Jennie Garth, have shared their good wishes on social media.
“I’m so sorry to hear this news,” Milano wrote. “But you are strong, you are brave, and you will fight this with everything you have. I love you.”
“I’m sending you so much love and strength,” Combs wrote. “You are a warrior.”
“I’m here for you,” Garth wrote. “I love you.”
Doherty’s announcement is a reminder that breast cancer is a serious disease that can spread to other parts of the body. However, it is also a reminder that there is hope. Doherty is a fighter, and she is not alone in her battle. With the support of her family, friends, and fans, she will continue to fight and live her life to the fullest.
