The incident occurred on Lap 117 of the HighPoint.com 400 when Christopher Bell made contact with Larson’s No. 5 Chevrolet. Larson was sent spinning into the infield grass, and he was forced to pit for repairs.

The caution flag came out, and the field was bunched back up. Larson restarted in 17th place, but he was never able to recover. He finished the race in 14th place.
Larson was disappointed with the outcome of the race, but he said he was glad that he was able to avoid a major accident.

“It was just a racing deal,” Larson said. “Christopher got into me a little bit, and I got turned around. I’m just glad that I was able to save it and not wreck.”
The incident was a costly one for Larson, who was running in the top 10 at the time. He lost several positions and dropped to 14th place in the points standings.
Larson will look to bounce back next week at Watkins Glen International. He has two wins at the track, and he will be looking to add to his tally.
