Justin Gaethje Knocks Out Dustin Poirier in Second Round to Win BMF Title at UFC 291

The two lightweights had a rematch five years after their first meeting, which Poirier won by fourth-round TKO. This time, it was Gaethje who got the better of the exchanges, landing a number of heavy shots in the first round.

In the second round, Gaethje landed a perfect head kick that sent Poirier to the canvas. Poirier tried to get back to his feet, but Gaethje swarmed him with punches and the referee stopped the fight at the 1:00 mark.

With the win, Gaethje becomes the first fighter to win the BMF title twice. He also moves to 25-4 overall and 6-3 in the UFC. Poirier falls to 28-7 overall and 19-6 in the UFC.
