Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are no strangers to a heated debate, and their latest clash on Monday Night Football was no different. The two former Premier League stars were discussing their predictions for the 2023-24 season, and Neville took issue with Carragher for changing his mind from what he said on The Overlap last week.

On The Overlap, Carragher predicted that Manchester City would win the Premier League again next season, with Liverpool finishing second and Manchester United third. However, on MNF, he changed his tune and said that he now believes Liverpool will be the champions.
Neville was not happy with Carragher’s change of heart, and he called him out for it during the show. “You’re changing your mind all the time,” Neville said. “You said on The Overlap that City would win the league, and now you’re saying Liverpool will win it. Make your mind up!”

Carragher defended his change of mind, saying that he had seen more of Liverpool in pre-season and was impressed with their new signings. “I think Liverpool have strengthened better than City in the transfer market,” Carragher said. “They’ve brought in Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay, and they all look like good players. I think they’re going to be the team to beat next season.”

Neville disagreed with Carragher, but he said that he respected his opinion. “I still think City are the favorites,” Neville said. “But Liverpool are definitely a threat, and they’re going to be a lot better than they were last season.”
