“Told you I’m a girls girl!!” Windey captioned a carousel of photos showing her and Hoffman kissing and hugging. “I’ve been seeing someone for a couple months now, and I wanted to share it with you all.”
Windey continued, “This is the happiest and healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in. Robby is kind, funny, and intelligent, and I’m so lucky to have her in my life.”
Hoffman, who is also a writer and producer, re-shared the photos on her own Instagram story and jokingly wrote, “Guys some news … I am gay.”
Windey’s announcement has been met with widespread support from fans and fellow Bachelor Nation stars. “Love you with my entire heart and soul,” Recchia commented on Windey’s post. “Needed this love story!!” wrote former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Windey’s coming out is a major moment for LGBTQ+ representation in the Bachelor franchise. The show has been criticized in the past for its lack of diversity, and Windey’s announcement is a step in the right direction.
“I’m so proud of Gabby for sharing her truth,” said GLAAD’s Senior Director of Programs, Megan Townsend. “Her announcement is a powerful moment for LGBTQ+ representation in the Bachelor franchise, and it will inspire other queer people to live their lives authentically.”
Windey’s announcement is also a sign of the changing times. In recent years, there has been a growing acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in the United States. A recent poll found that 70% of Americans now support same-sex marriage.

Windey’s coming out is a reminder that love is love, no matter who you are. She is an inspiration to LGBTQ+ people everywhere, and her story is a powerful reminder that it is okay to be yourself.
